School-Based Mental Health
Within this program the Malvern School District contracts with local mental health agencies to provide therapeutic interventions and preventions for students and their families on site at all school campuses. In order to receive these services students must be referred by the school's guidance counselor to the SBMH coordinator. Parents/guardians are contacted about the referral and student is assigned a therapist/mental health agency to contact to schedule intake appointment. Services offered on-site include individual and family therapy, group, crisis interventions, case management services and medication management by the agency's psychiatrist. All services are confidential and are not part of the student's education record. For more information please contact the SBMH coordinator, Velda Keeney at 501-844-0551.
