Dr. Nix is a 1957 graduate of Malvern High School. During his time at MHS, Dr. Nix was a 3-time football letterman, 3-time football All-District selection, 1956 Captain and chosen for the All-Star Football game, 3-time basketball letterman, 1-time basketball All-District selection, 3-year track letterman, and on the honor roll multiple semesters.
After graduating from MHS, Dr. Nix attended and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and was a Graduate of the University of Tennessee Dental School.
Dr. Nix served on the Malvern School District Board of Directors from July of 1970 until March of 1981. Dr. Nix is very involved in the Malvern community. He had a dental practice for over 37 years, is a member of the Arkansas and American Dental Association, is a winner of the American Society of Dentistry Children award, was a Hot Spring County Library Board of Director for over 15 years, is the present Chairman of the Library Foundation, was a winner of the Bessie Moore Library Award, and is a Deacon of First Baptist Church.
